To install flash I'd use the official version from the software center (just open up the software center and search flash, install the top result.

Alternatively

In a terminal CTRL+ALT+T Enter

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

In general the order should be

1. Look in the Ubuntu Repositories (Software Centre, Synaptic or apt-get from terminal)

2. Try to find another repository you trust.

3. Find a ".deb" file

After that is gets more difficult

4. Install from source (probably a tar file)

5. Convert from another distribution (rpm)

However, in this case Flash is in the repositories and you have already been given two methods to install.

Personally I would go with the second post as there is other useful stuff included.

Can you help with this problem?
