amd64.iso = ASUS Phone? I am on a Acer Laptop.

Asked by I-Cat

https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?version=20.04.3&architecture=amd64

The squash.sh file in the build is setting my lap top pc to a amd64 device.
In the squash.sh "image" ? It is setting my AcerPC to a ASUS phone?
the path is

[squash.sh]
/etc/acpi/

Any one know where I can find a Official build For my Acer Laptop pc?
I know My Acer laptop has a Toshiba Hdd The way acer is branding its pc's
are honestly fishy in the first place.

Where do you see these errors?

"amd64" is a generic code for all kinds of Intel-x86-compatible CPUs when run in 64bit mode.
I assume that your Acer PC has got such CPU, so that should be correct.

What is the output of the command
lscpu
on your system?

I don't see an issue here.... Is the problem that you have an Intel CPU but the ISO is for "amd64"?

Where and why is "phone" part of this scenario?

Well amd means Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. I Know I own a Acer laptop. It is a F5-573-545K model. I Know when I was using Windows. It had a x32 system(win7) Then went to x64(win8+) Then went to x86.(10+) I know that this acer company parted this laptop together because I't has a Toshebia HDD 1tb. I don't know If I will buy a nother but hey it lasted me this long... and the "newer" laptops are worse the mine in regards to storage and ram. Some Weird stuff is going on with it. I cant connect a usb to my one port. Id assume its broken or misssing a driver. I wouldent know if this is a amd chip. The sticker on the laptop says I have a core i5 7th gen chip, but hey the label says acer too when its a Toshebia hdd lol.

You are mixing up things.

It is true that "amd" means Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

but

"amd64" means 64bit address computing on x86-family CPUs, no matter from which manufacturer, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD64
