Immediate shutdown when battery critically low, no hibernate/suspend

Asked by Göktuğ Kayaalp

I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed, on Compaq Presario CQ62 laptop. When battery is critically low, it halts immediately, without a warning or else. I have been keepin an eye on that for a short time, and I plug the power in when it needs, but the battery goes empty very quickly too (less then half an hour sometimes to consume all the battery).

I had a look at the power settings, Hibernate option was disabled for "When power critically low". I dont have a battery-killing use of my laptop, I actually use gedit, wireless and GNOME all the time, no games or else.

I suggest you report a bug with ACPI, make sure you have the latest BIOS too.

Can you help with this problem?
