Best server settings for updates?

I was up until 3 am downloading updates for my home installation of Ubuntu (and my wife LLOOVVEESS it!!!, especially Beryl!!!).

But often I was frustrated because of server connection time-outs and slowdowns.

Which is the better server to connect to: Main server or the US server (I'm in Canada by the way).

Well there is not right answer, depends, whichever one you find fastest or least troublesome :)
