Can I install Ubuntu

I have a Dell PC which I was given. It has been completely wiped of everything(When I turn the pc on I am offered the start up menu that's all) , so if I wanted to install Ubuntu can I still do it with relative ease?

   Sure just place cd in and restart the pc it should boot from cd and install.
