Needs an app. kill switch in panel

Asked by Halaliel

Using Snowglobe Viewer on 9.10 NBR.
We need a KILL misbehaving APP. switch.
Snowglobe refuses to shutdown.
Can anyone in Ubuntu communities get the Snowglobe viewer & fix all it's problems ?
Second Life viewers are fun yes & always have major bugs that are way too slowly fixed.

You can try to right click the top panel and add FORCE QUIT from <add to panel> menu. Then drag the icon on the app you wanna kill or click on it then click inside the window of the app.
It doesn't work each time but sometimes it does the work.

Right clicking top panel does not offer this, I noticed that is only available in desktop & not NBR. Sadly the desktop swither is broken & you can't even install it. Thus the need to add this feature in NBR.
Question is will they fix the desktop switcher ?

Is there a system monitor under the "system" menu? If so you can go to the Processes list and end the one thats causing the problem.

Yes has used system monitor Snowglobe shows 3 processes, 2 of which you can END.
3rd of which you click up context menu to have to kill last process.

Be nice to include that neat Kill misbehaving app in top panel in NBR.
& the weather app. to.
& the CPU monitor to.

The desktop switcher worked in 9.04 it is broken in this 9.10 release sadly.

I've got the remix as well but the right clicking-top panel option works.
I'm not sure it makes a difference but I didn't installed the NBR from scratch. I installed Karmic desktop version then downloaded the remix from synaptic.

Once I've been using this and it worked for me:

I installed the NBR version, don't know why it works different but nothing I do gives me a ADD to panel option like desktop did.

I don't think the NBR part is mature yet it is crippled. I need to add another icon, can't do it. I want to delete un-used icons, can't do it. I want to modify a icon, can't do it.
Maybe should stick to Desktop install.

Can you help with this problem?
