Can I Use Unbuntu Server for Firewall

I need to setup a firewall. I would like to know if i can use Ubuntu 9.04 with Endian firewall? And how do i first install Unbuntu? Do I install the Mail server setup??

Ubuntu Server comes with UFW installed but not activated by default.

You install the Server by running the CD and following the instructions. There will be a section which will allow you to install additional services such as LAMP and SSH and a Mail Server.
