installazione di skype su ubuntu 9.04

il PC è con processore amd 64. ho installato ubuntu 9.04 (versione italiana) su windows XP SP3 utilizzando il Vs. disco che ho appena ricevuto. E' andato tutto in modo perfetto. Invece trovo difficoltà ad installare "Skype" che ho scaricato dal sito omonimo. Ho bisogno di qualche informazione. Non sono del mestiore. Mi arrangio anche perchè sono alle prime esperienze con Ubuntu. Sono un autodidatta.
Altra esperienza occorsa in questi giorni con un amico. Sono andato dal citato amico per aiutarlo. Con il Vs. disco originale d'installazione per "Ubuntu 9.04" ho proceduto. Prima ho lanciato l'installazione su HD pulito e formattato. L'installazione è avvenuta, ma incompleta, così che la connessione alla rete ADSL Alice avviene regolarmente però non si naviga. PERCHE' ??????????. (ho ripetuto varie volte la manovra).
Allora, usando lo stesso PC (idoneo), ho provato ad installare "Ubuntu 9.04" su l'altro HD (500 Gb) su Windows XP SP2. In questo caso NON si installa proprio. Devo anche dire che non sono sicuro dell'origine di Windows per quanto ciò possa valere.!!!! Avete qualche procedura da segnalarmi.

e copiaci questo
sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list \
 --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list &&
sudo apt-get -q update &&
sudo apt-get --yes -q --allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring &&
sudo apt-get -q update

Quindi apri il gestore pacchetti synaptic ed installa la versione di skype presente.

Quindi verifica se hai ancora problemi.
Io avevo dei problemi con la webcam che con la versione pacchettizzata di Ubuntu non ho.
