Kubuntu 8.10 (kernel 2.6.27-7 generic) Sound not working

Asked by Cheesepoptart

I cannot figure out my sound problem, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the 'pci int c disabled' line here from my /var/log/syslog. I don't know what to do here, as I'm not a guru in any regard, I can get around in linux well enough. I've tried installing drivers, configuring the alsa mixer, and several other things. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

The most common thing is that the sound is muted, type alsamixer into the command line and make sure all the volumes are at max and nothing is muted, m toggles mute.

Any reason you are not using the latest version of Kubuntu, 9.04 it will have a newer kernel with better driver support.

Can you help with this problem?
