DialUp HangUp

After reading tonns of pixels about dialup connection in ubuntu 9.04 and installing all the drivers for conexant modem (hsfmodem_7.80.02.04full_i386.deb and alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.20.3_all.deb) and dialing via the terminal after having set the connection usiing pppconfig, i heard the cries of modem but i couldnt brows the internet at all.it said check the connection.i failed badly to diagnose it.i am using the free version of the drivers aka 14.4 kps.when i typed plog into the terminal it gave me this

can anyone find a problem and solve it for me.and please answer me here and try not to refer to weblinks as im tired of these and tried almost all of them.if you need further information please ask me.i will provide all of them.and keep in mind one thing iam a new user and i love to use ubuntu but with dialup modem as my only source to internet it sucks!!

When I had dial-up, I always had to configure the DNS servers manually, or else, it would connect but not navigate. It was a long time ago, and I used the "kppp" dialer, which came with KDE. Sorry I can't help more.
