desktop effects ubuntu 9.04

Asked by tombo

Hi , I've updated to ubuntu 9.04 from 8.04 there was an effect that when the < alt +mouse scroll> combination was used it caused the active window to fade in and out. I tried keyboard shortcuts but as soon as I rolled the scroll on the mouse the option went back to disabled. Is there a separate program for this?

goto Applications -> Add/Remove Programs and download CompizConfig Settings Manager (maybe called Advanced Compiz Settings Manager).

Open up the program: System -> Preferences -> CompizConfig Settings Manager
Goto General Options -> Opacity Settings

Check your settings here

When you say <alt + mousescroll> , that is equivalent to "Alt + button4" and "Alt + button5"

Thank You! Yes Nandan Vaidya that solved my question except I had to use synaptic otherwise the add/remove program only had the full blown version of compiz, 64 pakages or something like that. Synaptic had one for ubuntu much smaller. Thaks again I appreciate your help.
