Can I still get a 8.10 Ubuntu disk from Ubuntu!

Asked by myshell1

Yeah, I know only 9.04 is available for free and you can buy 8.10 if you need 20 or more disks but I don't need 20 or more disks. If you read my previous post you'll see that I have a bug with 9.04 and my Dell Dimension Desktop and that burning 8.10 did not work out. If I can't purchase 8.10 or get it for free, either is ok from cannocal(sp.), I'll either have to stick with 9.04 without sound or go back to the dreaded Windows XP!

I don´t know your problem, but just download the right ISO from here http://www.releases.ubuntu.com and burn it. I can´t imagine you have a problem with this.

If so, download an older version like 8.04.2.

If that doesn´t work. Buy new hardware. All the files I spoke about are ok.

Success

Can you purchase 8.10(one disk) from cannonical or get it for free still? When I got 9.04 from cannonical it worked in my machine (minus the sound) I was able to install it. I got the 8.10 from the release page for ubuntu and like I said with two different burners and 3 different softwares, it didn't work.

Maybe you can buy a single 8.10 CD from a CD vendor near you, see http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/purchase

Can you help with this problem?
