Graphical effects on my computer are not working in Ubuntu 9.04

I am failing to activate desktop effects in Ubuntu 9.04 even though they used to work perfectly when i was used 8.04.

I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 on Intel Pentium Dual T3200 2GHz 3gb Ram, Mobile Intel 965 Chipset Family.
I have Compiz Fusion intalled but I can't activate the desktop effects.

Dear guggi, the Philip's question was to try the command 'copmiz --replace' to understand the problem.
Open a Teminal Applications->Accessories->Terminal and launch the command compiz --replace
Copy the command's result and write us.
