updates

Asked by gary

Hi,
I don't know how to get updates to run without taking up all the space on my drive. I restored 8.04 lts and it ran 188 updates and then wants to do 292 updates, but my disk runs out of space. I do not know how to fix this to get regular updates. Please advise.

I had the same problem when I first installed ubuntu it filled my hd eventually i had only 5 gig left then thought about the fact that I had goback installed removed it and restored my hd back to 50 gig free. Check and see if you have sys restore or some other type of restore program keeping the info on your pc.

How big is your partition for Ubuntu? If you have free space left over on another partition you could shrink that one and make the one youre using for Ubuntu larger with Gparted running a Live-CD with Ubuntu since the partitions need to be unmounted.
