ADSL (PPPoE) not working after restarting 9.04

Asked by zxc

I've got a serious problem. My internet network is PPPoE. I configured this connection as per instructions described here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ADSLPPPoE. The network was connected.
I also edited /etc/network/interfaces to get my connection on in every time I start my pc. But this is not working. I also tried to solve this by editing /etc/rc.local , but still nothing happened.

I'd like to mention that I'm using ubuntu 9.04 only.

Have you tried Applications - Accessories - Terminal type in sudo pppoeconf you should get a text-based program to guide you through the steps, which are
1 Confirm that your ethernet card is detected.
2 Enter your user name.
3 Enter your password.
4 If you already have a ppoe connection configured, you will be asked if it may be modified.
5 Popular options: you are asked if you want the "noauth" and "defaultroute" options nd to remove "nodetach" - choose yes.
6 use peer DNS 0- choose yes.
7 Limited MSS problem - choose yes.
8 when you are asked if you want to connect at start up, you will probablly want to say yes.
9 finally you are asked if you want to establish the connection immediately once you have finished these steps your coonnection shoulld be working.

Can you help with this problem?
