Permissions read-only, cannot change to read and write

Asked by dabomb980

My external hard drive worked fine on my windows computer, but when I bring it over to my ubuntu 9.04 setup, it doesn't allow me to write files. I tried right clicking and changing it there, but it does not save the settings. If it helps the drive is formatted FAT32.
