Acetoneiso2.0.3 is the only choice or there is something else as well please?

I need to install Acetoneiso_2.0.3 I am trying to follow the steps in the "read me" file and I always get this:

I have checked all the packages required for installation and they are all ok. Please help.

Don't use Yahoo Messenger. It's old and not very good.

Most of the IM applications in Ubuntu can be used with Yahoo. I use Pidgin. I have 3 accounts running - Yahoo, MSN and GMail.

Use something like Pigin instead...

Hi,

If you just need to connect to Yahoo chat and don't necessarily need to use the official client, I'd suggest that you try pidgin:
FAQ #513: “Yahoo chat: Connect using pidgin”.

As arochester said, you can use pidgin as Yahoo Messenger, it's better ...

On the top taskbar click on

Applications - Internet - Pidgin Internet Messenger

the front-end gui doesn't look all that great but the functionality underlaying it is much more sophisticated than most messenger apps, especially the limited ones in Windows. there are other ones available through Synaptic Package Manager and they seem to be able to have multiple accounts working all at the same time too.

I've not heard of Acetone and don't know the readme file you mention in this edit. please could you give us the url to it so we could try to be a bit more helpful? Thanks :) I think that you probably need to use "sudo" in front of the install commands and maybe some other commands too.

Ooops, sorry Rolinx1. I'm glad to see yu have managed to post a separate question about this now :) I was hoping that you would find Pidgin or something from Synaptic Package Manager to be useful as installing stuff through Synaptic is often much easier. But it looks like you are learning stuff that i still haven't got around to so i guess it's working out well this way round too :)
