Printer not seen

I have an old (working) HP LaserJet P 3005d Printer running on an HP PC throught a USB cable using Linux Mint 20.3.
The Print Function "does not see or list" the P3 3005d printer, only a "Generic CUPS PDF Printer".
So, I cannot print any docs or anything else to the P 3005d.
How can I correct this problem?
