failed to connect to server: No route to host

Asked by Bob

This is the message I get on Synergy. But I also have to restart my computer many times, just to get it to connect online.
This all started when I got a new router. What is also strange is I have to constantly change the Server Ip number on Synergy to get it to connect. it was .138 and now it's.139, somehow my Ip address has changed? but now that is not fixing it anymore and synergy is no longer works.
I don't think it's synergy. it's something else but not knowing much about hosts and routers I'm at a loss.
I'm running 16.04. on both computers but only one computer is having the connection problem. synergy is 1.6.2

I'm thinking a config file needs to be changed because of the new router or something like that. But this is an area I have no knowledge about.

End of standard support for Ubuntu 16.04 was April 2021 unless you have ESM,
[Extended Security Maintenance] Extended Security Maintenance is a paid option through Ubuntu Advantage.
That might have something to do with it.

Can you help with this problem?
