lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gnucash

I recently updated Ubuntu to 20.04 from 18.04...this is when the GnuCash icon disappeared. The text 'GnuCash' does appear in the list of apps and it does function normally. Just no icon.

Below is the output from "lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gnucash":

OK then run:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install gnucash

Should do it

Will I lose any data if I do that??

No. You are only reinstalling the application. Do you lose your Word documents if you reinstall Microsoft Office?
