Cannot Install Ubuntu

Hello,

I recently downloaded Ubuntu Desktop Edition 9.04. When I try to install it, I boot from the CD. I select "Install Ubuntu" from the boot menu, but all what I get is some lines of text. http://image-fast.com/image/b19589a2ef8b/ubuntu.png
Then the installation stops.
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a virtual machine, with 768 MB of RAM.
Do I need to install Ubuntu on a physical computer, not virtually? I don't think so.

You can install Ubuntu on a virtual machine. What virtualisation software are you using?

Did you MD5 check your ISO you downloaded? If not, why not?

A bad ISO will make a bad install

Virtual PC is not a good idea for installing Linux try Virtualbox instead

I tried VirtualBox. I successfully installed Ubuntu, but it's running slow as if I have 2 MBs of RAM (5 minutes boot). I installed "linux-virtual", but it's still slow.

Thanks for your help. I installed Ubuntu as a host OS and it's now running fast. It's now my primary OS. :)
