Can't Turn-Off Log Off Sound. 9.04
OK...I give up...who told the developers we All want to hear a very loud piercing beep when we shut down 9.04...?
I tried turning off every possible sound and it STILL beeps on shut down.
In 8.10 I unchecked system beep...but NOW I do not see that.
Can anyone please tell me how to turn off this annoying default "feature"...?

Lol, it very annoying and there's a bug-report about it somewhere worth linking to and chaniging the note on the top right hand corner to say "This bug affects me too", but i can't find it right now :( In the meantime try going up to the top taskbar and click on
System - Administration - Login Window
it asks for your normal user pasword, not your SuperUser/Root one. Click on the tab that says "Accessibility" and untick all the sound waves in here?
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Maybe system preferences -> power management - beep on errors-?
And you've tested system preferences -> sound tab?

NO...I CAN NOT believe this...it is soooo Microsoftian!
I am ready to go back to 8.10 where the system beep is unchecked then the whole house and office is NOT alerted every time I shut down.
Thanks for the response.
