last Up date messedup Really badly the Repetier-Host

Seems the last Up Date REALLY MESSED UP Repetier-Host . .I have not been able to run the 3D printer to make ANYTHING for over 2 weeks now . . and Last up date did something WRONG Repetier-Host will not even come on I now can click on the icon till the sun goes down and get NOTHING . . Re installed Mono and the Repetier-Host STILL NOTHING ! !

What is Repetier-Host?
Is this a program provided by Ubuntu?
If not, why do you think that an update in Ubuntu has broken it?

As attempt to diagnose the problem:
What happens if you open a terminal window and start the program manually?

Which version of Repetier-Host do you use? Also, which Ubuntu? Does it give an error message? Have you tried using an older Ubuntu kernel?

At this site, there is some information, about Repetier-Host and Linux problems. The update may have changed something that causes a conflict.

I was using 18.04 Ubuntu . . and 1.6.2 Repetier-Host , Yesterday igot tied of it and backed up all files and deleted the Hard drive with Gparted and started over again Now have 19.04 and have not tried much of any thing as sitting in Star bucks installing things yet . . Still have a lot to re install but got enough done to test all of it . . Seems 19.04 gets same problem with the UEFI partition and the vbox.drv file , , worked okay until next up date and all of the good went to hell . . had to re set to legacy boot and disable Secure boot . . Some programmer is messing over Ubuntu . . Deleting the Vbox.drv file from the windows boot sector ( UEFI ) thing and not putting it back
1.6.2 makes better parts the newer version tried it already . . been there did that !

Repetier-Host is in Synaptic package manager and is installed via that or down load the file and install the old way . . Oh it is used in 3D printing reads the G-code and moved the nozzle arund to make parts

I assume you are talking about the program repetier-host from http://www.repetier.com
Is this correct?

Which version?
2.1.6?

Installed from the tgz file or as appimage?

Are all dependencies installed?
What output do you receive for the commands
uname -a
lsb_release -crid
dpkg -l | grep -i mono

I use 1.6.2 Repetier-Host . . Makes a better part and I can move the "Z:" Axis .001 mm to get things figured out as to the real height of things and the needed adjustment of the End Stop and distance from the Nozzle to the bed . . . And I have a file I keep for Virtual Box fixes which has lot so tiny fixes for this problem and that problem . . And I use Synaptic Package manager to download and install Mono . . That is Needed for Repetier-Host to let it work get the Mono.dev part and what ever else it marked that goes with it . . like User in Virtual Box and dial out . . And never been able to get the appimage to do jack . . just refuses to expand or do what ever it was to do in Ubuntu . . So always us the .tgz version and expand and install it works every time . .

… but currently it does not work?

What happens if you open a command terminal window and try starting ReptierHost manually?
The commands needed for that probably are

cd (directory where you installed repetierhost)

mono RepetierHost.exe -home .

Well 3D printer works now . . And so does Repetier-Host . . But deleted 18.04 completely formatted drive and installed 19.04 and all works made first part i have been able to make in weeks yesterday . . Actually It is in directory repet/RepetierHost in Downloads directory . . Part of my stuff that gets added to Back-3 Drive . .I never run Repetier-Host via Windows just in Linux . .Windows is inside of Virtual Box only . . Not one of my favorite items .Windows is for Sketchup Make to make the Parts for the 3D printer .AND now ALL is working right . .Oh yeah like 18.04 your now getting bombed with System Error messages from 19.04 . .Got first PART OUT OF 3D PRINTER IN WEEKS yesterday and it even printed on center of the heated bed . .
