installing

trying to install unbut, but computer keeps saying need 243mb of space to install. My computer has 74gb worth of memory and after freeing space it still wont access the installation. Tried booting from start up but computer wont recognize it have changed boot sequence and still nothing. Need help!!!!

What method are you using to install and what release of Ubuntu?

In what step of installation process computer says nedd 243MB of space to install?

I'm using a unbuntu cd I borrowed from a friend. Right after my computer recognizies it the menu screen comes up. I choose install into windows and then the need 243MB free space to install. I don't understand!!! I'm not sure how many RAM I have.
