I am not sure whether I correctly understand your problem.

When you are using a command with sudo in a terminal window, you are asked to enter your password. You have to be aware that in this moment you do not get any feedback when typing the password (no echo, not even '*' placeholders).
Just 'blind' type your password and press the 'enter' key.

what you are doing,
what you are expecting to happen,
