drivers, toshiba satellite a-125

In ubuntu it's very simple, it should get all drivers you need, basically it already has a lot of drivers and if it needs extra "restricted drivers" it will tell you.

So just install ubuntu, update it, install restricted drivers if it asks for them and get going.

windows is preventing me from opening the file I downloaded, or opening the cd. Hpw the hell can I install the program if windows fights me all the way? Be kind guys I'm really suffering at the hands of microsoft.
