connecting to windows vista pc

I have a windows vista PC connected to a billion 3G wireless router and the 3G internet connection. I have my Ubuntu 8.01 PC connecting to the net and email but cant connect to the windows PC. I also have an xbox connected to the network cant see that either. I see the vista PC on the ubuntu pc but cant open anything on the network. What can i do? I am new to ubuntu and so far love it but for this network problem?

There is probably a firewall at the router and or the PC stopping the Ubuntu computer.

Can the Vista machine be seen by any other machines and can it see the Xbox? Does the Vista machine have any shared folders with stuff in that people should be able to see. I know Xp had a "Shared Documents" folder and wonder if Vista has the same?

I don't know how to configure the Vista standard firewall but in Xp you'd have gone into the "Control Panel" and found something like "Security settings" or something.
