Does Ubuntu makes use of accelerometer to protect my disk ?
On the operating system that came with my laptop, the system warned me every time I make a abrupt moment, saying that it had temporarily locked the hard drives head to avoid damage. (that warning off course came with a checkbox that would allow me to disable that from coming up every time)
I have installed Ubuntu on my laptop, and it didn't mention such protection. I'm a bit afraid of using Ubuntu while I'm on the go, because I don't know if it protects the disk or not.
Does it protect the disk ? (if yes, I hope I can fill a bug for that not telling it's active ?)
Or it doesnt ? (In this case, I hope I can fill a bug asking for support)
I know that such support shouldn't be easy to make, maybe because the manufacturers keeps the data sheets closed and don't release drivers for linux.
Thanks!
