I have ubuntu intrepid 8.10 installed in the 64 bit version and decided to purchase the new gstreamer fluendo software from cononical to save aggravation, and perhaps some legal issues as well. When I bought it, a window opened to install the program from deb files and I clicked it. I need to know what should and should not be enabled in synaptic so that I know that it is functioning correctly and to its max potential. The file I read that is supplied on or near that page I purchased it from said the I should remove all packages gstreamer 0.10 fluendo. I do not mean to sound dumb but it does not make sense to me. To someone who has installed this correctly, may you please tell me what is right and what is wrong? There is gstreamer shroedinger 0.1.5-1 enabled now while the fluendo version which seams to imply that its pluggin packge is the commecial end product I desire remains disengaged.. Help would be most appreciated.

Install it.
If some package is in conflict, it would be removed.

No, not actually. I uninstalled all packages marked gstreamer 0.10 Fluendo AFTERWARD of downloading the deb file and now I am scared I may have tampered with its functioning correctly. I would like to thank you for getting back so fast but I need to know if I have to reinstall this thing and if so, how do I go about reinstalling the fluendo package I bought. I hope I am not annoying you by this question, but I would love the reassurance that my original purchase is not wasted sirs. John Needham
