feisty 64 bit does not recognize lg cd

Asked by Áron Sisak

I have an Asus p5gz-mx and try to install Ubuntu from the Feisty 64 bit alternate install CD.
I can boot the cd, but the installer does not recognize the cd drive. How could I fix this?

What made you think the system does not recognize DVD drive? Appears an error message or something like?
Has you had the problem with standard ubuntu installer or with 32 bit version?

Thank's for the report.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Actually I boot the 64 bit alternate installer. That is booting properly, and the installer starts.
The problem is that it does not detect my DVD drive (as I try to continue the process of installation).

I will try the default live CD and maybe try to change the drive master / slave state.

Hi Aron,

Please you must show that error message appears when you try to install Ubuntu.

Okay, seems that the CD driver has been tired / old / not supported.
Everything went well with a new one.
