Wireless password keychain

Asked by ryan10ad

Have just installed Ubuntu (Festy Fawn) on my machine and is much better (and faster) than Win 2000. I have one nagging problem though, I connect to my router (BT Home Hub) through a WIreless adapter (Belkin Wireless G Adapter (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=179753)). I let Network Manager configure it, and the password has been added to the keychain. Now every time I boot and log-on, i am asked a password to unlock the keychain. Is there any way to stop this and let Ubuntu log on without me unlocking anything?

You're prompted for this password keychan because the keychain stored most of your GNOME applications 's password.
There is a way to avoid this step, but you need some knowledge:
- install libpam-keyring
- modify your keyring to have the same password than your account
- modify GDM pam as explained http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=187874

reboot
