Problems switching from Win98
Asked by

I am tying to install Ubuntu on a PC with Win 98. I don't want to dual boot or anything, I want only Ubuntu. I put the disc in my PC, shut it off, and then booted it back up. It took me into the Ubuntu installation screen and I selected memory test. After I decided I was finished using memory test I selected reboot. Now my PC refuses to recognize my CD-Rom drive. It will not boot from it, although when the PC itself is booting, it recognizes it. It just goes straight to the windows loading screen after booting. My CD-Rom drive doesn't appear in "my computer" either. I have my CD-Rom drive set as the primary boot. Can anyone please help me finish installing Ubuntu?
