the ubuntu with KDE is kubuntu, kubuntu has a browser anly for it, and firefox too.

Hi
if you are new to Ubuntu I would suggest use Ubuntu not Kubuntu as I is a lot easer to use, In Ubuntu just click in the icon on the top tool bar for Internet, tell it to use Ethernet or wireless if you have it.
