Simultaneous sound

Situation: launching Rhytmbox player and starting play some music. At the same time starting totem or youtube (firefox) - sound stops and both applications "hangs" in a while (about 0.5-1 minute). And there are no sound until I kill those applications. I've tried to switch all output to ALSA (menu System -> Settings -> Sound) or to PulseAudio - same story, sound stops when two applications trying to sing at the same time.
Are there any solutions? Any recommendations?

I think you need to set PulseAudio this way: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=776739&page=1
It worked for me, I hope it will work for you, too.
