Dual booting with Alternative CD? Win 2000
Asked by

I am currently running Win 2000 Pro on a Compaq iPaq, with about 128 mb of ram, and a Pemtium 3 processer, (all guessed as Hp/Compaq dont have any records on my computer). Any way, I downloaded the 7.04 version, burned it to disk and when I boot with the disk in, the Ubuntu Boot menu comes up. I select to Run/install option. after the Ubuntu logo with bar, list of services loading, and a off white desktop, the computer goes dead twenty mins later. I found out I am using the Live CD version, and found out about the alternatve cd version. My question is do i have to partision my drive first, (i want to dual boot), then run the insallation, or will it do it for me?
