how to patch a .deb package with a .debdiff patch

I have a .deb package that I want to install . I also have a .debdiff patch file to apply. I only found how to patch apt-source packages, but what if I want to patch a .deb package sitting in the desktop ?

Here is a detailed link that may be useful to you. you may not need some of the initial steps as you already have the .deb file, but then the later steps show how to apply the .debdiff and build it again.
