Ubuntu 8.10 Wireless question

Documentation at 'https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/internet/C/wireless.html' does not seem to apply to my
8.10 installation.
My IBM Laptop has an Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200 BG [Calexico 2] Network Connection (rev 05)
which Ubuntu recognizes during 'Hardware Testing'.
My question is, what must I do to connect to wireless networks known to be available?
