How Do I Install XP Over Ubuntu To Dual Boot?

Asked by taurus

I already have ubuntu installed and want to install XP over it to dual-boot my system. I have some questions about this, please:

1) How can I do this?

2) After installing XP for a dual boot, is it possible to later on in the future to uninstall ubuntu?

3) Is it possible to make an o/s boot up by default then later on in the future, switch to the other o/s?

Now if you have installed ubuntu already and want ot install windows you can do that.

--Insert the Windows bootable CD in the drive and restart the PC.
you will get a interactive screen to install windows which is pretty easy considering that you have installed Ubuntu also.Just make sure that you dont wipe off the ubuntu drives (ext2/ext3) which have ubuntu installed.

later after installing windows you will need to recover ubuntu for which you will need the live CD
and the instructions are pretty simple.

If you want to have just windows now and may want to install ubuntu later to make it dual boot you can do that provided you leave some space of your HDD for the installation

Hope i have answered your questions!
