wireless device is not deducted in compaq presario c700

i have inbuilt atheros wireless in my compaq presario c733tu...... i could nt enable my wireless in ubuntu......wat r the steps to taken....
there is an icon in the quick launch bar..... when clicked shows options for wired connection and peer to peer but not for wireless.......
pls give me the solution in steps
