i am planning to buy a new sound card for my HCL laptop having ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron.
which one would you suggest for a good music experience.

are all the sound cards mentioned on these pages compatibe with ubuntu 8.04 lts and ubuntu and ubuntu 8.10

yes most of the sound cards with 5.0 rating must be fully compatible..
