CD/DVD drive doesn't work

Ubuntu detect my dvd rom but when i insert a cd or dvd an erorre show up and it tell me that

(cd/dvd Drive can't mount ) .

The dvd is a read/write .

what i should do ?

Oh dude i am sorry this has happened but most likely your DVD drive has what is called a limited driver meaning that Ubuntu has not officially released a driver for your computers DVD/CD drive. When Ubuntu Linux 8.10 comes out try upgrading because with the new release coming out in less then 8 days this huge upgrade includes a lot of new drivers this has happened to my cosines computer when 6.06LTS Draper Drake was out when 7.04 was released the problem was fixed.
