No APM support in kernel

Asked by Dines683

I am trying to enable APM.

If i type in apm in the terminal i get the reply "No APM support in kernel".

In /boot/grub/menu.lst i have set "acpi= off apm=on"

and i have:

/boot$ grep APM config-2.6.24-19-rt
CONFIG_APM=m
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND is not set
# CONFIG_APM_DO_ENABLE is not set
# CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE is not set
# CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK is not set
# CONFIG_APM_ALLOW_INTS is not set
# CONFIG_APM_REAL_MODE_POWER_OFF is not set

So as far as i have understood by reading threads on the subject, APM is compiled into my kernel and i have activated it.
But, as i wrote earlier If i type in apm in the terminal i get the reply "No APM support in kernel".

Any ideas of why APM doesn't work?

Oh dear, I'm sorry not paying enough attention to this detail.
Since I'm not familiar with technical details to answer your last question on 43573 the kernel team might have a dedicated answer.

Can you help with this problem?
