Multiple sounds with PulseAudio

Hello people, I really would like to know why PulseAudio works so badly on many Pc`s with multiple sounds at once, I have tried to fix this annoying problem with dozens of possible solutions available over the net but the only way to get it to work is just erasing PulseAudio from the computer: ¿Does any of the Ubuntu multimedia programmers are fixing/correcting this problem for the next version? It`s a pitty, because thousands of users has the same problem.

3 different PC Installations of Ubuntu 8.04.1 and ALL had the same problem (in my case).

on board chips Realtek (VIA), AC97 and PCI Genius live value 5.1

I presume they are it is a bad enough problem.
I think you can pick alsa instead if you want to get back the multiple sounds.
