its still can't. there are some error when it try to loading hardware drivers. 'Kernel Panic - not syncing: Machine check'. Is it because this notebook didnt support ubuntu?

erm,... same with me. Always end at BusyBox. maybe we should wait next release from ubuntu until it supported.

Hey, I got i from http://expertester.wordpress.com/2008/07/18/acer-aspire-4530/

I found someone already able to install Ubuntu on his 4530. However, he is using Ubuntu Ultimate 1.8 (base on ubuntu 8.04 with some add on)

Not sure if you got this fixed yet but I was able to install ubuntu 8.10 sucessful on the acer 4520 with dual boot and vista. In order to do the install I had to go to the bios and set the hard drive interface to IDE instead of the default setting. Can't rember exatly what the default was ATH... something. that was the onlyway the install didnt freak out. Additionaly I was forced to reinstall vista, then install ubuntu after this change was made. Linux runs great on the machine though.

Hope this helps if you havent given up yet. :)
