How do i uninstall ubuntu if it stops booting and reinstall after?

Asked by corvettezo7sp

This happend a day ago. I started up my computer and started up ubuntu but when you see the loading screen with the logo it just sits there and never boots. I tried to uninstall ubuntu so i could load it again but i cant do that either. I even tried the recovery consle but it keeps reapeating one boot process over and over again. How do you fix this?

To re-install simply insert the CD and boot it. It would be wise to make backups of any important data first!

You may be able to mount the drive from the live CD - then burn your data to CD/DVD. Failing that - you would need another working drive, or another computer to stick the drive in - and copy off your data.

Here's some general info:

If you have a usb thumb drive laying around, you could also use a special version of Ubuntu to boot from it - then mount your old drive and burn your data to disc.
