Thank you Leo, yes.

The first [194793] refers to
http://developer.berlios.de/projects/Linux-UVC. This was the only place
I could find that looked promising - but there was a note reading 'This
project has not released any files' and under the 'Download' heading
there was nothing. Looks like a work-in-progress where the files have
been withdrawn subsequent to other posts to this thread.

The second site [205782] indicated success with QuickCam Express and
other Logitech models using the spca... series of drivers but no mention
of a QuickCam Fusion. According to info at 'linux-drivers.org' (I think
I found it there) no go for Fusion - indeed all mention of Logitech
cameras that I could find indicated no Linux driver for this model.

But I thought it was worth a try - someone may give us a lead. But
please don't suggest that I write a diver!

Seems I'll need that good luck you wished me.

Regards, nice to meet you..

Hello again Dave!

I've searched the Linux USB device site http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/ and came across this thread:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-427165-highlight-fusion+logitech.html

I hope this work for you.

Thanks Leo, that's a post from January 2006 and takes us back to
[194793], my previous post, where the download files seem to have been
withdrawn.
I've given up for now.
http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=3544 also refers to the
gentoo forum site but shows the dreaded yellow triangle with
superimposed exclamation mark and states 'No driver available'.
So it looks like I'm stuck.

Signing off,
Dave Dartnall

I had the QuickCam fusion running on edgy. You need to compile the uvcvideo driver and pass the parameter trace=15 to initialize it. I found the instructions reading
