Xsensors program will not run

Asked by wpshooter

Why is it that the Xsensors program STILL will not run under Hardy even though it is now at version 8.04.1 ?

The program installation seems to go fine and it places the item on the menu (and yes, I have run detect-sensors) but nothing happens when you click on the Xsensors listing on the menu.

The Xsensors program runs just fine under Gutsy.

Thanks.

Yes it's broken - there is a bug report if you care to search for it.

Edit the launcher too this and see if it works for you - does for me

/usr/bin/xsensors -c /etc/sensors3.conf

This means nothing to me ???

I am not a programmer.

This needs to be fixed so that everyone including non-programmers can
use the program.

Thanks.

This non-programmer had the same problem, but discovered sensors work fine in panel applets. (fans on the bottom panel and HDD CPU temps on the top)

Would that be satisfactory for you too?

I'm not a programmer either - I managed to not only deal with the problem, but I did so without rude and petulant posts and using search to get the answer.

If you need something explaining to you ask and I'm sure someone will help eventually.

It might, if I new how to accomplish that.

When I go to add to panels, I do not see any listing for Xsensors.

Thanks.

The applet is called [Hardware Sensors Monitor]

Does that help?

RTFM? I can't even count them, let alone read them!

Can you help with this problem?
