log into launchpad from a different email address

How can I log into my Launchpad account from a different computer with a different email address? I have tried, and the login doesn't seem to allow me to.

I'm not sure I understand your problem, why not use the same email address you used to create your account? Email addresses aren't coupled to computers, you can use any email address on any computer to log in, as long as that email address is coupled to you account on launchpad.

Hey Madeddie,
I have three Ubuntu machines clustered around my desk; a laptop and 2 boxes sharing one monitor-keyboard-mouse. I have three email accounts, one for each, and I play with my computers instead of crossword puzzles. I built the two boxes myself from empty enclosures with scrounged secondhand parts and pieces. I'm currently seeking an AGP 8x video card so I can use the special effects, by the way.

The laptop is the stable one, the other two are for experimentation. That way, I can trash an installation with abandon. I am a natural at crashing systems. Networking is the next experiment. I have an MS networking degree (earned at almost 60 years of age) and worked as a sys-admin for a couple of years before retiring. My appreciation for Linux is deep and abiding, although mostly self-taught.

So, I think you answered my question, that my account is coupled to a single email address.

Is there another solution I don't know about?

Hi Sethra,

Impressive accomplishments, also good for you to keep on learning new things at that age, I wish most people would do that!

Anyway, I'm not sure why you'd want to, but you can add multiple email addresses in your launchpad profile and as far as i know you can then log in with each and every one. But in case of launchpad your email address is nothing more than a login name, it's also used to send information to, but it's not dependent on the computer system you're login in from. Maybe we mean something else with email address or perhaps you use them in a different way, but you don't need a seperate email account on every computer.

Thanks, I do use the addresses for different purposes. The Local Folders are on the second partition, formatted in ntfs, so the op-sys can be reinstalled at will. Also the Documents, music, and pictures folders are referenced to that drive.

Do you know how to put the Bookmarks and saved cookies and passwords from Firefox on a second partition? OK, yes , I'll start another question...
