Computer does not boot on installation cd-rom

I've burnt the .iso image of 8.04 on cd, but Windows says there's no file on disk, and the computer doesn't even try to boot on the cd-rom.

Of course, I've told the BIOS to boot from cd first, and the computer does check if there's a bootable cd in the drive (Writes "Boot from cd..." before Windows starts), but apparently fails to find it.

Help.

I've tried to burn an extra cd in case there was an error on the first - didn't change the problem. The RW-drive works fine, and I've been using the ISO-burning app suggested on ubuntu.com.

Hi
can you boot it from windows, if you insert the disc when you are using windows, it will boot like any other program.
you can install it from there if you like. If it wont work there I would say you will have to download it again, assuming you have burnt the image ok. it maybe a bad download. what program did you use to burn it I was able to use Nero ok.

If you simply copy the file to the CD that is not right.
I even checked the iso file on CD with WD5. That is too late.
The iso file has to be exploded on to the CD and I don't understand how that is initiated.
But some right clicks will connect the copying with the exploder. This modified copy will show multiple files under windows explorer. That is needed to be bootable.
