open office upgrade hangs 2.4.1.1

Just installed upgrade (6/18/08), try to open a spreadsheet and open office hung. Restarted oo and it hung in the file recovery screen. Tried to open oowriter and it hung too. Can't select any buttons to continue with recovery. Grrrrr.

Open synaptic and search all the openoffice components and remove and then reinstall. I had the same problem with it and that sorted it for me.

I was able to solve this same problem by deleting openoffice.org-common which should delete several associated files. Then reinstall the same file. Took about 2 minutes. The recovery window worked properly and I was able to continue.
